Cupcakes of Hope raises R15 000 in Boksburg

Their main priority is to help children affected by cancer.

Cupcakes of Hope raised R15 000 for children affected by cancer at East Point shopping centre on National Cupcake Day, October 1.

According to the coordinator of the NPO, Sureka Amikachander, they sold 1 000 cupcakes at R10 each and also received donations.

“All the money goes towards supporting children affected by cancer. Cupcakes of Hope was established 10 years ago and host this charity drive every year on October 1 across the country.”

It was their first event at East Point and they look forward to hosting the event here again.

“The cupcakes sold were all donated to us by various organisations and individuals. These drives are done for a good cause; supporting many children with cancer.

“We are grateful for the support as it is encouraging and motivating for the cupcakes team. While we are here today, other members are also raising funds across South Africa.

“We know it is expensive to care for a child with cancer, which is why Cupcakes of Hope sales are important to help raise money towards medical bills and other essentials for families,” Sureka said.
