Tavern shootings: Community Safety MMC visits Katlehong shooting victim’s family

MMC assures support for families of Katlehong tavern shooting victims

MMC for Community Safety Letlhogonolo Moseki assured the families of the victims of the Katlehong tavern shooting that the City of Ekurhuleni will support them to get justice by making sure the perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted.

Moseki and the city’s Chief of Police Isaac Mapiyeye visited the families on July 13.
This follows the shooting at Katlehong tavern on July 8 where Sibusio Hlatshwayo (28) and James Fitha Dlamini (56) were killed.

“We will not rest until these people are arrested and they will also not rest until they are in jail because we will always be hot on their heels. We cannot allow this kind of criminality, which has no space in our city, to continue.
“Anyone with information that can help the police to arrest and successfully prosecute those involved in this crime and other crimes across the city may report it at any EMPD precinct near them or the SAPS. If we can join hands we can defeat crime,” Moseki said.

Both families expressed gratitude for the visit by the City of Ekurhuleni.
