Reiger Park SAPS’ Constable Unathi Lindiso was attacked and shot by eight men at his home in Phako Street, Vosloorus, on June 4.
According to the Vosloorus SAPS spokesperson Constable Nompumelelo Nhlapo, the officer had an altercation with his tenant before the incident.
“Thereafter, the tenant called his brother who came with his friends to attack Lindiso, who was not on duty at the time. After the attack, the group of men came with the officer to the Vosloorus police station to report what had transpired.
“One of the men confessed that he had shot the officer and was then arrested for attempted murder. The officer and one of the other men were badly injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
“Two guns were confiscated – one from the police officer and the other from the man who was arrested,” said Nhlapo.
