New Comet learners showered with hotdogs

The local business wanted to make children happy.

In honour of Youth Day, the Eskort store in Boksburg donated 2 000 hot dogs to New Comet Primary School learners, mostly from disadvantaged families.

The team from the store visited the school on June 15.

According to store manager Marcel Goodman, they wanted to give back to the community, particularly to the school learners, to commemorate Youth Day.

“We considered donating hotdogs because these are difficult times, and something special, like a hot dog, will make them happy. The children were so happy and grateful, and it gave us such an incredible feeling,” said Goodman.

The deputy school principal, Eric Ngcezu, thanked the store for their gesture.

“Something special for the learners must be done at least once in a while. I am grateful,” said Ngcezu.
