Confidence matters to this Sunward Park teen

The teenager is working on a project called Money matters to motivate more teens on how to use their money wisely.

Isabella Silva (15), a teenage motivational speaker from Sunward Park, has recently launched her second project called Confidence Matters.

Following her first project, Teen Matters, Isabella has visited various schools in the community to inspire teenagers to have confidence in whatever they do in life.

According to Isabella, most correspondence she gets via her Instagram account is from people suffering from a lack of confidence.

“Lack of confidence can result in mental issues such as depression. My motivational talks are designed to allow people to express their feelings.

“I learnt how to adapt to any situation I come across because the most difficult thing in motivational speaking is knowing that you can’t help everyone,” said Isabella.

The Crimson Global Academy learner who just finished her International General Certificate of Secondary Education has not remained coy after finding what she is passionate about.

“My job is to encourage people that there is light at the end of every tunnel and I do that by knowing what kind of motivation a certain group needs. I am authentic,” said Isabella.

Isabella’s mother, Daleen Silva, said she is exceptionally proud of her daughter because she shows hard work and dedication each day.

“She has been focusing on building her project for a while now and her dedication to her work is what makes me happy because it shows that she cares about making the lives of others better,” said Daleen.

Owner of Lavender Drama Studio and Isabella’s public speaking coach Liani de Jager said the teenager has been doing an amazing job in the past five years she worked with her.

“Isabella has always been passionate about public speaking. Apart from provincial and national achievements, we wanted to take it a step further and make an even greater impact on the lives of teens from a teenager’s perspective.

“She has always been eager to have her voice heard and make a change in the lives of many. We’ve been working diligently to turn her into the motivational speaker she aspires to be,” said de Jager.
