Community members are urged to supply information regarding the incidents.

Boksburg North SAPS is warning the community, especially women, to be vigilant as a spate of rape and sexual assault cases have recently been reported at the station.

• A 36-year-old healthcare worker was raped in broad daylight on April 27 in the vicinity of Loizides Street while waiting for a taxi to take her home to Thembisa.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the incident happened at 11:00.

“Police were told the victim, who worked nightshift, asked people in the vicinity of North Rand Road where she can find a taxi.

“This was the first time she had to go home by taxi as her colleague usually gave her a lift to and from work.

“While trying to establish where she can find a taxi, a maroon Renault with four men arrived.

“One of them had a firearm and forced her inside the car. They took her to Loizides Street, where two of the men raped her. She was also robbed of her cellphone.”

Police are investigating cases of rape, kidnapping and robbery.

• A 50-year-old father allegedly sexually assaulted his 18-year-old daughter at their house in Dakota Road on April 28.

According to Ramaube, the incident happened at about 00:30.

“The daughter further alleged the sexual assaults started when she was 10. She said she was afraid to tell anyone,” said Ramaube.

Police are investigating a case of sexual assault after the mother opened a case.

• A 33-year-old woman was raped in Fourth Street, near the Boksburg North Swimming pool on April 30 at 23:30.

Ramaube said the victim and a friend went to a club in Boksburg North where her boyfriend works.

“They ordered drinks and everything was fine. Suddenly, the victim’s boyfriend started shouting at her and assaulted her.

“She ran out towards the Boksburg North Police Station for help.

“On her way to the police station, she got tired and fell. Her boyfriend, who was chasing her, apparently kept assaulting her until she passed out.

“When she woke up, she was surrounded by lots of people and cars and was taken to a hospital. Only at the hospital was she found to have been raped.

“It is unclear who raped her,” said Ramaube.

Police are investigating cases of rape and common assault.

• Police are looking for a man who raped a 22-year-old woman in the vicinity of the R21 freeway in Bardene on the morning of May 1.

According to Ramaube, the incident happened at 07:00.

“Police were told the victim was walking when she saw a man with a knife in his hand.

“He threatened her and she told him to take what he wanted, but not to hurt her.

“The man took her cell phone and instructed her to walk while pushing the knife into her body.

“He ordered her to go into a ditch and pull her jeans down before raping her four times,” Ramaube said.

Police are investigating cases of rape and robbery.

Ramaube added the Family Violence, Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is investigating these cases.
