A brush with local artists … Dirkie de Wet
De Wet noted that local artists don’t get as much exposure since the well-known Boksburg artist Barry de Villiers passed away and decided to start a Facebook group to give artists exposure.
East Rand Visual Artists Combined shared a few paintings by its founder, Dirkie de Wet of Parkrand.
De Wet started the Facebook group East Rand Visual Artists Combined on April 20, last year, to unite artists and spread awareness about their artwork.
The artists on the group can post photos of their paintings on the group.
The variety of the paintings posted on the group includes landscapes, sea scenes, impressionistic works, character portraits, flowers, animal life and farm scenes.
