St Francis receives welcome donation

St Francis Care Centre is a registered NPO and is always in need of the community's support.

The Patriotic Alliance (PA) Ward 34 branch (Reiger Park) extended a helping hand to the St Francis Care Centre on May 2 by donating items on the organisation’s wish list.

The donated goods included maize meal, coffee, rice and cold drink.

Hilton Campbell, part of the PA Ward 34 inter-leadership, explained they saw St Francis’s needs published in the Advertiser and decided to support the centre.

“I always wanted to support St Francis because they are close to my heart and I have a history with the organisation.

“Furthermore, I would like to thank Ward 34 Clr Edith Klassen, everybody who made the donation possible and the staff members,” explained Campbell.

According to Campbell the branch adopted the St Francis Care Centre and committed themselves to make donations to the centre on a monthly basis.

Centre manager Tilly Brouwer expressed her gratitude towards the donors for their contribution.

“We appreciate each donation as it is helping us to deliver a service. We’re always in need of contributions, and it also motivates us when we receive support. The centre is also thankful that they will assist us with monthly donations,” Brouwer said.

St Francis Care Centre is a registered NPO, which caters to dozens of vulnerable children and adults, most of them suffering from threatening and/or life limiting conditions.
