Bargain hunters flock to Advertiser’s car boot sale

The monthly car boot sale, which has been going on for the past three and a half years, is held on the first Saturday of every month at Bokkie Park.

The Boksburg Advertiser’s Bokkie Park Car Boot Sale and Bokkie Park Craft Market deals brought bargain hunters out in droves on April 2.

The April chapter of the monthly outdoor event with bargains bonanza saw many shoppers arriving early morning to multiply their bargain-grabbing chances and enjoy the outdoor family-fun.

Among the second-hand goods on sale at the event were tools, kitchenware, books, toys, electrical appliances, clothing, paintings, antiques and other items.
The craft market stalls offered all sorts of crafts, food and cooldrinks, and patrons were also treated to live musical performances.

Elsie van der Merwe and her husband, Johan, vendors who had been part of the car boot sale since its inception by selling second-hand goods from clothing to kitchenware, said they enjoy getting out and about.

Elsie van der Merwe and her husband, Johan, said they enjoy getting out and about in town and that the car boot sale always proves fulfilling and rewarding.

“The car boot sale is always fulfilling and rewarding. As with the previous events, we are happy with business. We have been doing this since the beginning and we enjoy it. There is always a great atmosphere,” said Elsie.
The weather was great in the morning before it started to intermittently drizzle in the afternoon.

Gunther Keller and Joyce Albertyn were among the vendors at the Boksburg Advertiser’s car boot sale held on April 2.

The monthly car boot sale, which has been going on for the past three and a half years, is a Boksburg Advertiser initiative, in association with the Bokkie Park Craft Market. It is held on the first Saturday of every month at Bokkie Park in Southvale Road, Parkdene.
The next event will be held on May 7.
