Two Reiger Park schools searched by police

The law enforcement agencies showed all the confiscated items to the principals of each school after the searching phase and the items were confiscated.

Reiger Park police, EMPD with narcotic dogs, Gauteng traffic police and Graphite Security personnel conducted an operation at Reiger Park and Oosrand secondary schools on February 22.

The law enforcement agencies searched learners and found contraband, including dagga, knives and rolling papers.

Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson Zanele Motaung said they initiated the operation after receiving many complaints from teachers, community members and parents about the unlawful activities happening at these schools.

“Gangsterism and drug abuse are rife at these schools. Last week, learners from Reiger Park Secondary were involved in a fight in which the police had to intervene,” said Motaung.

The law enforcement agencies showed all the confiscated items to the principals of each school after the searching phase and the items were confiscated.
