Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen achieved a 98.8% pass rate, highlighting an increase from 2020’s 96.6%.
Out of the 167 learners who wrote the 2021 examinations, 127 learners passed with bachelor’s passes while 30 learners passed with diploma passes.
The school flew high with 128 distinctions.
Zandré Jansen van Vuuren from Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen got five distinctions in Afrikaans, English, business studies, life orientation, business studies and life sciences.
Alyssa Botha from Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen attained six distinctions in English, mathematics, life orientation, life sciences and physical sciences, engineering graphics and design.
Claryn van Niekerk from Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen got five distinctions in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, tourism and drama.
Deputy principal Craig Smith said, “We’re extremely proud of the Class of 2021’s results and the school’s overall performance. They performed exceptionally well considering the Covid-19 challenges.
“I would like to thank the teachers, learners and parents for their hard work and support. We wish the learners all the best for the future,” said Smith.
Hoërskool Oosterlig Hoërskool Oosterlig’s Class of 2021 achieved a 98.03 % pass rate, showing a slight increase from last year’s 97.98%.
A total of 154 matriculants at the school sat for their NSC examinations and the school flew high with 152 distinctions, an increase from the previous year’s 146. 80.66 percent of the learners also passed with bachelor’s passes. Twenty-four learners obtained diploma passes.
Suné Cumming from Hoërskool Oosterlig achieved five distinctions in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, computer applications technology and accounting.
Simoné Herbst from Hoërskool Oosterlig got six distinctions in English, maths literacy, life orientation, business studies, tourism and Afrikaans.

Chanel Lategan from Hoërskool Oosterlig got five distinctions in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, business studies and drama.
Michelle Ungerer from Hoërskool Oosterlig got six distinctions in
Afrikaans, English, maths literacy, life orientation, business studies and tourism.
Bernice Stander from Hoërskool Oosterlig got five distinctions in Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life sciences and business studies.
School principal Francois Nel said he is satisfied with the school’s overall performance.
We’re disappointed that we didn’t get a 100% pass rate; however, we understand the last two years were difficult due to Covid-19 and learners and teachers had to adapt. “Congratulations to the learners on their amazing achievements,” said school principal Nel.
The principal thanked the teachers and learners for their hard work and parents for their support.
Hoërskool Voortrekker High Hoërskool Voortrekker High achieved a 95.3% pass rate, which is a decline from 2020’s 96%. Out of the 239 learners who sat for the 2021 examinations, 92 learners passed with bachelor’s passes while 79 learners passed with diploma passes.
The school got 93 distinctions, an impressive increase from the previous year’s 38.

School principal, Alfri Black, said: “We’re proud of the learners who performed well under difficult circumstances due to Covid-19. We had to face a lot of challenges because of the virus,” said Black.
The principal wished all the learners well for the future.
