12 injured in accidents overnight

The accidents occurred in Benoni, Boksburg and the Vaal.

At least 12 people were injured, and one person was killed in four separate collisions in Gauteng between last night and the early hours of this morning, according to Werner Vermaak, corporate communications manager at ER24.

Benoni

At approximately 20:30, paramedics from ER24 attended a head-on collision between two taxis along Luton Road in Benoni. Upon arrival, they found one person with serious injuries and two people with moderate injuries. The three patients were treated on the scene and later transported to hospital. Two other patients were treated on the scene, but later refused transport to hospital.

Vaal

ER24 Vaal also attended to a collision between a heavy motor vehicle and a car at the R82 and R57 crossing later the evening. Three people were injured in the collision.

A second collision on the R42 left three people injured. Fortunately, no one sustained any serious injuries in this collision.

Boksburg

One person was killed when a vehicle veered off the N12 highway near the Trichardts Road bridge in Boksburg. Shortly after 01:00 this morning, paramedics found one person with fatal injuries and another person with moderate injuries. The patient was assessed and later transported to hospital. Local authorities attended the scenes.
