The Boksburg SPCA announced that it exceeded its Christmas Cheer Fund target by R32 915.
The fund opened in November with a goal of R100 000 and will run until the end of January. The society did well in comparison to last year’s R140 710.
Boksburg SPCA secretary Sue Beadon expressed her gratitude to those who supported the initiative.
Businesses and schools opened their hearts to the society in support of the fund. Donations from the amount of R30 to over R40 000 were received by the SPCA.
The Boksburg SPCA will now be able to complete a few projects, which includes 10 new dog kennel fronts and floors and the refurbishment of the society’s office, cattery and adoption cattery.
