CBC pleased with matric achievements

Forty-two learners wrote their final examinations and 39 distinctions were achieved.

Christian Brothers’ College (CBC) in Boksburg is proud of its 2021 matric class for obtaining impressive results in the IEB examinations.

The headmaster of the school, Darren Flood, said despite the challenges they encountered with Covid-19, he is pleased they could complete the syllabus through a hybrid online-learning system CBC introduced.

“It is imperative to commend the staff, particularly the matric educators, at the college for their tireless efforts and dedication to the matric group,” he said.
“To the young men of the Class of 2021, your time has come to go forth and conquer, to spread your wings and prove yourselves and your worth to the world.

“It is time to achieve what you have worked hard for and dreamt about throughout your schooling career.
“It is important to believe in yourselves and all you are. Believe there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle you will face.”

The school has four top achievers:
• Connor de Freitas – seven distinctions: Afrikaans first additional language 81%, business studies 89%, English home language 82%, life orientation 91%, life science 87%, mathematics 89% and physical sciences 84%.

• Rotondwa Ndou (deputy head boy) – six distinctions: accounting 87%, life orientation 93%, life science 83%, mathematics 91%, physical sciences 81% and advanced programme mathematics 83%.

• Dillon Kruger – four distinctions: Afrikaans first additional language 84%, English home language 82%, life orientation 84% and life science 81%.

• Phomello Rasebeka (head boy) – four distinctions: Afrikaans first additional language 84%, business studies 88%, life orientation 92% and mathematical literacy 86%.
