Chereez was diagnosed with undifferentiated aggressive soft sarcoma stage three cancer early in 2018. The cancer nightmare started with a pain in her right cheek. Her parents’ worst fear became a reality when further tests confirmed that Chereez indeed had cancer.

She received proton treatment from August 2018 to the end of October 2018 at the Maryland Proton Treatment Centre in Baltimore in the USA. In December 2018, the Nel family got the news that Chereez is cancer-free.

Although Chereez’s story is positive the Nel family still needs to pay the money back to the donator who made the trip to the USA and treatment possible.
