Four suspected murderers arrested

All the suspects were scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.

The swift reaction of police has resulted in the arrest of four suspected murderers and the discovery of unlicenced weapons in Boksburg.

Three of the suspects are Lesotho nationals who are farm patrollers in Plantation, Dawn Park.
This comes after two men were brutally killed in two separate incidents recently.

The first murder happened on December 19 on a property called Newland Farm, in Plantation, Dawn Park, during which the victim was severely assaulted before his death.
A second murder was reported on December 22, in Extension 10, Mapleton. The victim was stabbed to death.According to police, in the December 19 incident a man believed to be in his late 20s died after being assaulted, allegedly by a group of farm patrollers when he was reportedly found on the farm.

The man was declared dead on the scene and his half-naked body bore multiple injuries.
Const Det Mufamadi initiated a murder investigation, which led to the arrests of three of the farm patrollers, and they were all charged with the victim’s murder.
A search for the other remaining patrollers led to the discovery of unlicenced firearms and live ammunition.

“Upon a search of the other suspects, police found two patrollers in possession of an unlicenced firearm and live ammunition.
“One of the patrollers was found in possession of a 9mm pistol loaded with six live rounds, while his colleague was in possession of 17 live rounds of ammunition.
“They were both arrested and charged with possession of an unlicenced firearm and live ammunition.”

In the other murder in Mapleton, police said they registered a murder docket after the victim was stabbed and died on arrival at Thelle Mogoerane Hospital in Vosloorus.
The death was reported to police by the hospital, as the man had suffered stab wounds to his left chest.

“Mufamadi immediately launched a murder investigation and gathered information that led police to the arrest of the suspect – a foreign national who also lives in Mapleton,” reads the police report.
Further investigations led police to the suspect’s home where they found a bloodied T-shirt and jacket.
In the pockets of the jacket, police found a brown Okapi knife, believed to have been used in the crime.

All the suspects were scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
