Owner and founder George Moustakis loves anything baked, pricked or dusted with flour, a passion nurtured in him from a young age in his family of bakers.
With 16 years of experience in a family-owned business, Baker George’s dream is now a reality in his two popular George’s Bread and Co stores.
The Boksburg store is at the K90 Centre, corner Rondebult and North Rand roads, and the Benoni store is at the Rynfield Shopping Centre, in Miles Sharp Street.
In the Eat, Drink and Be Merry category of this year’s Best of Ekurhuleni Readers’ Choice Awards, the bakery was named the winner of Best Craft Bakery with Café – for the second row running!
George says their winning recipe is baking from scratch. This allows them to control every aspect of the baking process and produce superior quality and uniquely delicious baked goods for every taste!
George’s Bread and Co is currently filled with all sorts of heavenly treats for the festive season, including platters, readymade gingerbread houses, gingerbread house kits and delectable Christmas cakes.
During the festive season, normal public holiday trading hours will apply and the bakers are taking a break on 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January.
