Council also elected its council speaker, mayor and Chief Whip of the council at the first council sitting in Germiston.

Nearly a month since being elected, the newly-elected Ekurhuleni councillors took the oath of office during the City’s first council sitting on November 22.

The incumbent, consisting of ward councillors and proportional representative councillors, were sworn in during the inaugural city council meeting held in Germiston.
Councillors were also during the event reminded that now is the time to get down to work to better the lives of the citizens who gave them their vote to be their voice.

If you have a complaint related to municipal service delivery, report it to the City of Ekurhuleni’s call centre on 0860 543 000. If you are not getting any joy from the relevant department, you can then contact your ward councillor.
