AfriForum Boksburg is inviting the public to support its blood drive at El Ridge Corner Shopping Centre on November 20.
The team from SANBS will be ready to assist donors from 09:30 to 15:00. The civil rights organisation’s target for the day is 300 units of blood.
Minimum requirements to be a donor:
• Be between the ages of 16 and 75
• Weigh 50kg or more
• Be in good health
• Consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient
• Lead a sexually safe lifestyle
AfriForum Boksburg will also sell boerewors rolls next to the SANBS tent on the day to raise funds for its Christmas Drive that will take place the week of December 6.
“All the funds will go towards less fortunate children’s Christmas gifts. Our target for the gifts this year is 2 000. This means we will put smiles on the faces of 2 000 of our little ones this Christmas,” said Gerald O’Kelly, deputy chairperson of AfriForum Boksburg.
