Helicopter to airlift injured from N12 Rondebult Road accident

Two lanes of the highway have been reopened.

According to the EMPD, an accident occurred on the N12 early this morning at the Rondebult offramp N12 west.

Traffic in a westerly direction has been severely impacted and backed up from as far as the Tom Jones offramp.

“Four vehicles were involved in the accident with entrapments and serious injuries being attended to by emergency services,” said media spokesperson chief superintendent Kelebogile Thepa.

“Recovery is currently taking place with space being provided for a helicopter to airlift the injured to safety.

Three lanes are now open on the highway allowing for traffic to regain mobility, but there is still a delay.”

This is a developing story.
