The Boksburg police are appealing to the public to assist them in tracing the family of 21-year-old Mfihlakalo Solomon Nyobole.
Nyobole died after being hit by a car on the N17 freeway between Sunward Park and Carnival City on February 12.
The police received information about the incident from their radio control room just after 8pm.
According to the police, they were able to identify the deceased through fingerprints.
Investigations revealed Nyobole lived in Mamelodi but when police went to the given address it was discovered that he didn’t reside there.
The driver of the car, who hit him, is known and police and a case of culpable homicide case has been opened.
