WATCH: Police vaccination drive kicks off in Soweto

The Covid-19 third wave continues to wreak havoc in South Africa.

The SAPS launched its vaccination drive at Orlando Stadium in Soweto this morning, July 5.

More than 180 000 officers are expected to be vaccinated across the country to ensure their health and safety as the Covid-19 third wave continues to wreak havoc in South Africa.
During the launch led by Police Minister Bheki Cele and other top management, officers were encouraged to get the vaccine.

The pandemic has seen several police stations temporarily closing shop in Boksburg and across the country, as officers contracted the virus. Officers in Boksburg have died after contracting Covid-19.
