Atlas Judo Club goes gold

This was also the students' first tournament since the beginning of the lockdown.

Some of the judo students from the Atlas Judo Club who obtained gold.

The Atlas Judo Club won 11 gold medals at the Ekurhuleni Judo Association inter-club tournament held in Germiston recently.

The club competed against seven other clubs from Ekurhuleni.

“We’re extremely proud of our students, as they all obtained first place in the competition. We would’ve gotten 12 medals, but one of our students could not finish the tournament due to an injury.

“This is the first time in history that we brought home so many medals. Their hard work and dedication came through,” said the club’s sensei Vince Maree.

Furthermore, Maree thanked sensei Mike Willson for his excellent coaching.
