AfriForum’s Boksburg neighbourhood watch receives training

AfriForum tries to offer or attend as many training sessions as possible in the community in order to equip volunteers with skills to handle every situation professionally.

Members of AfriForum Boksburg’s neighbourhood watch recently received level one first-aid training in Benoni.

The training was given to four of AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch members by KPS Security. This is the first of several training sessions that are planned for the future.

“This training is a good example of how community structures are expanding and growing self-sufficiently.

AfriForum tries to offer or attend as many training sessions as possible in the community to equip volunteers with skills to handle every situation professionally and within the framework of the law.

“AfriForum regards it as important for neighbourhood watch and branch members to receive this type of training, in order for communities to work together and develop to build a better future,” said Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s district coordinator for the East Rand.

Francois Reyneke, chairperson of the local AfriForum branch, described the training as a success.

“We would like to thank sponsors such as Reysons Industrial Supplies and Debon Air Compressors that made the training session possible. Their support is much appreciated,” he said.
