Local shines at Pro Diva fitness competition

The 20-year-old dance instructor came in second in the Miss Sports Fitness category and third in the Beach Bikini category.

Multi-talented Jaqueline Cronje of Beyers Park excelled in the Pro Diva fitness competition that took place at the Lyric Theatre on May 29.

The 20-year-old dance instructor was placed second in the Miss Sports Fitness category and made it to the top three of the u-23 Beach Bikini category.

Cronje, a premier champ dancer who represented her country in Blackpool, England, in 2019, said she is over the moon about her achievement.

“I feel so good. This was my first fitness competition, and I enjoyed it so much. Now, I’m inspired to work even harder on my fitness. I want to compete in competitions like Summer Superbodies in the future and earn my pro card,” said Cronje.

The Miss Body Beautiful Teen 2020 said she worked around the clock to prepare for the competition.

“I worked hard on my fitness. I hit the gym seven days a week for at least an hour a day as I couldn’t exercise that much last year due to the lockdown. I’m also on a healthy diet.

“I just decided to make an effort to improve my health and fitness. Another reason I competed in Pro Diva was to inspire and set an example for my students. I’m still very passionate about dancing,” she added.

Cronje thanked her mother, Annelize Cronje, her coach, Lauren-Lee Porter, and everybody who supported her.

“Moreover, I’m extremely proud of my mother. She started exercising with me in January and lost 19kg since then,” she added.
