Update: Ward 43 residents encouraged to vote on Wednesday
Wednesday is D-Day for Ward 43 residents to make their mark in the municipal ward by-elections.
With only a day left, residents of Ward 43 are reminded about the upcoming municipal ward by-elections on May 19 to elect a new ward councillor.
In Boksburg, only residents of Ward 43 will be participating in the by-elections as a result of the death of its former councillor, Bruce Reid.
Ward 43 consists of areas such as Sunward Park, Freeway Park, Klipoortjie, Groeneweide, Windmill Park and Dawn Park.
Vying for the vacant post are:
• André Loyd Klassen (ANC)
• Carolana Marais (DA)
• Lillian Nonkululeko Ntshengila (EFF)
• Ashley Theresa Rutherford (independent)
Residents of these respective areas can vote at the following stations from 8am to 5pm.
• Falcon Educational School
• Sunward Recreational Park
• God with us Ministries
• Sunward Park High School
• Freeway Park Primary School
• Kingdom Wealth Property
• Living Waters Multipurpose
Meanwhile, voters are reminded to take with them to the voting station their IDs, either a green barcoded ID book, a smartcard ID or a valid temporary ID certificate.
