Goede Hoop Primary upgrade complete

Headmaster: Upgrade for future generations.

A key handover at Goede Hoop Primary School in Reiger Park on May 4 was one of the highlights of the week at the school.

The handover marked the official unveiling of the school’s upgraded Grade R area – a project that took about three months to complete.

The facelift was sponsored by 27four Investment Managers and was facilitated by the Imperial and Motus Community Trust.

The day saw the owners of the facility, the Grade R learners, getting the opportunity to get a feel for the new area, which includes several playing areas and multiple classrooms.
Principal Jose Grotewold thanked everyone involved, stressing the importance of taking care of the facility by maintaining it for future generations.

“I’m very, very happy,” enthused the head of the school when asked about his thoughts on the project.

“Physical activities, which the playing area will allow the children to get involved in, are very important to a child’s development because they improve things like hand and eye coordination.

“The upgrade is something we really need,” he said.

The day’s programme, which was opened by Imperial and Motus Community Trust curriculum manager Jane Mabaso, was all but run by the Grade Rs themselves with the singing of the national anthem and thanking everyone involved for their new property.
