Mohau Pheko, of Boksburg, writes:

I had an amazing experience at Home Affairs (Boksburg) and I would like to brag about the branch manager, Stanley Ngoako Ramoroka.

My daughter needed to renew her passport as well as her first ID. The system showed that the passport had not been picked up, which was rather strange because she’s been using the passport for the past five years.
Ramoroka explained what he was going to do to resolve the problem. He was respectful, professional, communicative and efficient.

He immediately sent an email to the head office in Pretoria and when he did not receive a response within the required time, he telephoned and managed to resolve the matter.

These days it’s so hard to say that about public servants as we often hear negative reports, stories of inefficiency and long queues that are endless. I want to express my deep appreciation for his assistance.

It is such an incredible pleasure to find people like him who are still committed to civil service while providing it without fear or favour. I observed how he treated all the applicants, he exercised respect, patience and took time to explain the procedures. I liked the way he treated the students who had come to apply for their ID’s, as some did not have the required documents.

He did not kick them out of the line and dismiss them, he gave them the chance to secure the necessary help with their application.

I sincerely hope you will tell this good story in your paper. Ramoroka is a leader who inspires hope in the future of our nation. The staff at the Boksburg Home Affairs were all respectful.  The space was very clean, orderly and efficient.
