Swift action by the Boksburg North police led to the arrest of a suspect on April 13 shortly after a break-in at a house in Paul Smit Street.
According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, at about 7.30am, Maria Aletta Britz found that her house had been broken into. Items including a bicycle and two lamp light stands were stolen.
“The resident immediately notified the police about the break-in. Thereupon, Sgt Steven Phasha, Const Thembalihle Nomda and Const Tlou Thamaga initiated preliminary investigations and spotted a 29-year-old man in possession of the items matching the description of the stolen goods,” said Ramaube.
The suspect was arrested and charged with house break-in and theft. The stolen items were returned to their rightful owner.
