Classe Cars now at VMAX Square
A newcomer to VMAX Square, Classé Cars is a family-owned and run business in Boksburg since 1996. They received a warm and friendly welcome from their neighbouring businesses at the centre, making them feel like family.
Owner Johann Engelbrecht started his career as an aircraft engineer for SAA, at what was then Jan Smuts Airport. His mechanical background added to his confidence around engines and he has a wealth of knowledge about vehicle mechanics.
Johann later worked for Kawasaki as a sales representative, and then worked for Pat Hinde and Boksburg BMW as General Manager, Dealer Principle for Mercurius Motors and MD for Mercedes Sandown Motors, as a dynamic-by-nature person. Johann left the corporate world in 1996 and established the Classé Cars dealership in Boksburg, at their first premises at the K90 Centre, on July 1, 1996, on his birthday and has been operating since then.
Later, Classé Cars moved to premises on the corner of Edgar and Trichardt’s Road and branched out to other premises in Trichardts road in August 2012, until the move to the VMAX Square earlier this year.
Johann works alongside his daughters, Angelique and Siobhan, who have both gained extensive knowledge over the past 10 years of their involvement in the motor industry bringing with them professional, marketing, and business knowledge.
Siobhan joined over 10 years ago, during this time she completed her BCOM degree in Marketing and Business Management. She is a fully qualified Finance and Insurance Manager for the business and is currently doing her Mini MBA for the motor industry. She manages various facets of the business and is the Dealer Principle for the business.
Angelique joined Classé Cars when they were in Edgar Road, and later left to go Aupair overseas, she then returned and started a family of her own and joined the business again. She gained extensive knowledge in Procurement and now manages all the Management and procurement functions within the company, making sure that only the best stock is available.
This close-knit Boksburg family runs the dealership like clockwork, using effective communication to pave the way for an exceptional customer experience.
“2020 was a massive ‘reset’ for us as a family-owned business, so we then decided to do a ‘redo’ and go back to our ‘roots’ – where we started in 1996,” Johann said.
The family unit operates its used car business in accordance with strict corporate guidelines and exceptional customer satisfaction is always a priority for the team.

Although well known for exclusive type cars they also cater to all budgets in the motor industry. It has grown into one of the oldest – if not the oldest – privately-owned used car businesses in town.
The move from their premises in Trichardts Road was an exciting one for the dealership and their closed glass showroom at VMAX Square is unmissable on the corner of North Rand and Atlas roads.
