WATCH: Robbers hit cash-in-transit van in Boksburg East

Motorists are advised to avoid the scene as the roadway between Reservoir Road and SMD has been closed off to traffic.

A group of suspects is alleged to have attacked the cash-in-transit van as it was driving along van Dyk Road in Dunswart this morning.

The Advertiser is aware of a cash-in-transit heist which took place this morning on Van Dyk Road or M43, near the Engen garage on Reservoir Road.

Police were not immediately available to share information, but our reporters have just arrived at the scene to gather more information on the robbery.

It is understood that multiple shots were fired at the CIT van, but it’s still unclear if anyone has been injured, and whether the assailants have been arrested or managed to flee the scene.
