Help police find armed gang who robbed Witfield SPAR

The Boksburg North police are investigating a case of business robbery.

The Boksburg North police have executed a manhunt for a group of men who made off with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and airtime following a robbery at the Witfield SPAR last month.

The police said the men entered the store pretending to be customers before robbing the store.

According to the Boksburg North spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, while a 50-year-old till supervisor and her colleague were counting money, they were approached by an armed man who instructed them to keep quiet.
He allegedly took the undisclosed amount as well the 50-year-old’s wedding ring.

The man then demanded the woman to open the office door and a safe. She apparently told them she didn’t have the keys to the office nor the safe code.

“During the robbery some of the cashiers were assaulted. While fleeing the scene, the group of men stole a security guard’s firerarm,” Ramaube said.

The suspects fled the scene in a white Caravelle. The police have opened a case of business robbery.
Investigations are still continuing.
