SPCA exceeds Christmas Cheer Fund target

You made it happen, Boksburg SPCA reaches target

The Boksburg SPCA again exceeded its Christmas Cheer Fund target.

The fund opened in November with a goal of R100 000 and exceeded the target by R14 710.

In 2019, the organisation exceeded its target of R60 000 by raising R71 844. The fund was supposed to run until the end of January but has officially been closed.

According to Sue Beadon, Boksburg SPCA secretary, they decided to close the cheer fund before the end of January because they haven’t been getting any donations recently.

“Taking into account the impact of Covid-19 on everyone last year, we are incredibly humbled and very grateful for the generous support we received from our many supporters. We would like to extend our appreciation to everyone who contributed to us exceeding our 2020 Christmas Cheer appeal,” she said.

As a result of the generosity of the public, the Boksburg SPCA will be able to complete all their Christmas Cheer projects, which included: • New food storage container • Upgrade of the old security camera system • Completion of the refurbishment of adoption row kennel fronts and floors. • Seventy outreach/low-income sterilisations in celebration of Boksburg SPCA’s 70th birthday (which was marked last year).
