EMPD seize drugs in Boksburg and Benoni

The confisctated drugs included dagga, rocks, crystal meth, and Mandrax tablets

Members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested four suspects and seized a variety of drugs during an anti-crime operation held in Boksburg and Benoni on January 15, 16 and 17.
According to an EMPD spokesperson, during the operation, officers spotted a suspicious-looking 38-year-old man idling on 6th Street, Boksburg North. He was searched and found in possession of dagga, rocks, crystal meth, and Mandrax tablets, all valued at R4 000.
In Reiger Park, patrolling EMPD crime-prevention unit officers arrested a couple they found in possession of Mandrax tablets worth R11 400 on Carma Street.
Meanwhile in Benoni, on January 16, a 31-year old woman was caught with rock substance valued at R2 500.
All the suspects were detained at their respective police stations and are facing charges of possession of and possible dealing in illicit substance.

They were scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.
