Two alleged drug dealers nabbed in Boksburg anti-drugs operation

Both suspects are facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance

In an anti-drug operation held in Boksburg on December 8, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated drugs and arrested two people, a man and woman.
According to EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng it was just before 6am when officers conducting the operation noticed a suspicious 34-year old male idling along 4th Street in Boksburg North.
He was approached and upon further investigation police found one knotted plastic of cocaine, one container with rock substance and two cellphones altogether valued at R12 700. The suspect’s R200 cash, believed to be proceeds of crime, was also confiscated.
The suspect was placed under arrest and detained at the Boksburg North Police Station.
The team proceeded to Ramaphosa in Reiger Park where they caught the 62-year-old woman in possession of 38 small and medium paper wrapped fingers containing dagga valued at R800.
She was found on Indaba Street, and after being frisked, the alleged drug dealer was arrested and taken to Reiger Park Police Station.
Both suspects are facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance, and they are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
