Metro officials to reinforce Covid- 19 safety messages

Focus on avoiding getting infected or spreading the virus, as another wave may require further restrictions or lockdown

The City of Ekurhuleni reminds its residents that Covid-19 is still prevalent and the safety precautions are still important.
Residents are urged to focus on avoiding getting infected or spreading the virus, as another wave may require further restrictions or lockdown.
“With the festive season upon us, family gatherings and parties are scheduled so be cautious. The City will continue to reinforce the level one regulations during December.
“The festive season is a joyous time when a lot of social gathering will be held, it is during this time that health official will be strengthening their strides to fight the spread of Covid-19 by making sure residents remember to take precautionary measures,” said MMC for Health and Social Services Nomadlozi Nkosi.
The ward-based intervention team conducting screening, public education and awareness will visit various areas across Ekurhuleni to conduct door-to-door interaction with the community, encouraging residents to continue adhering to regulations, and reiterating the importance of wearing a mask, hand hygiene and practising social distancing.
Below is a roster of the areas that will be visited:
December 8: Gold Spot Taxi rank in Vosloorus
December 10: Naledi Shopping Centre in Vosloorus
December 11: Las Vegas in Jerusalem informal settlement.
