R45k worth of narcotics seized, suspect arrested in Boksburg

Residents of Boksburg North have, for yeas, been complaining about drugs crimes in the area

A 32-year-old alleged drug dealer, found with R45 000 worth of drugs, was arrested in Boksburg North on November 24.
According to EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members were conducting a crime-prevention operation when they spotted the suspicious-looking man on 1st Street.
Upon further investigation, officers uncovered 102 Mandrax tablets, two plastic packets containing crystal meth substance, one large plastic pack and 30 ziplocks of khat valued at R45 000, as well as R120 cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime.
All these items were seized, and the suspect was taken to the Boksburg North Police Station where he was charged with possession of drugs and dealing in drugs. The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon
