Man attacked with hammer at work

A man sustained injuries all over his body after being attacked by a colleague over a lost cellphone

A 38-year-old man recently opened a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at the Boksburg North Police Station after he was attacked with a hammer, allegedly by a colleague.

This incident took place at his workplace in Cason Road.

The man told the police that while he was speaking to another colleague at the door of his workplace, this colleague accused him of stealing his phone.

Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube said the colleague apparently grabbed the hammer that the victim was holding in his hand and assaulted him with it.

“He was left bleeding from the attack and could not walk due to the injuries he sustained,” said Ramaube.

No arrests have been made and investigations continue.
