Retirement centre commemorates Cancer Awareness Month

The event was aimed at creating cancer awareness

Witfield Park Retirement Village commemorated Breast Cancer Awareness Month recently with a prayer for those affected by cancer.

Elize Janse van Rensburg, one of the organisers, explained that a group of residents gathered under a big tree at the retirement village to pray for friends and family members affected by cancer.

Furthermore, a few cancer survivors from the village shared their stories and attendees enjoyed a cupcake afterwards.

She said it was a pleasant and thoughtful afternoon, adding that all Covid-19 regulations were adhered to.

“Our hearts go out to all cancer patients and survivors. I would also like to thank Marita van der Walt and all those who contributed to the success of the event,” said Elize.
