Police embark on awareness campaign
The crime awareness campaign was aimed at decreasing the spike of business robberies and house break-in cases reported at the Reiger Park SAPS
The Reiger Park SAPS, in conjunction with the CPF, embarked on a two-day crime awareness campaign at the Ramaphosa informal settlement on October 21 and 22.
Facilitating the crime campaign, Sgt Lufuno Mudzuli of the Reiger Park SAPS said due to a spike of business robberies and house break-ins at Road Reserve, Extension One and Two in Ramaphosa informal settlement, they decided to conduct the crime awareness campaign there.
“We targeted these areas to spread awareness so that residents can be aware of what is happening in their area in order to not become victims,” Mudzuli said.
Police officers and CPF members engaged with residents and they handed out pamphlets in the area.
