Donors turn out for Boksburg North CPF blood drive

The CPF collected 34 units of blood

The Boksburg North Sector One and Four CPF held a successful blood drive at Jonsson Workwear Depot Boksburg in North Rand Road on October 24.

According to Boksburg North CPF chairperson Mark Gilpin, 34 people donated blood at the event, surpassing their target of 20.

“The forum wanted to collect blood for the SANBS as they understand the national blood reserves are often low,” Mark explained.

The chairperson thanked Jonsson Workwear Depot and the community members who supported the blood drive.

Trude Gaarekoe, local donor relations practitioner, expressed her gratitude towards the CPF for organising the blood drive.

“They are going to help save 102 lives and we are truly grateful that they assisted us in collecting blood,” Trude said.

Trude urged other companies and organisations to contact the blood bank and organise blood drives.

“The festive season is upon us and blood is going to be in high demand,” the donor relations practitioner pointed out.
