DA in Ekurhuleni replaces its caucus leadership
This came after the vote of no confidence that was brought against de Lange by members of the caucus
Alderman Tania Campbell (DA member for community safety in Ekurhuleni) has been elected DA Caucus leader in Ekurhuleni, replacing Phillip de Lange.

The DA in Ekurhuleni congratulated Campbell on her new position, adding it is confident her wealth of experience will help bring stability and re-energise the caucus in the metro, thus helping to fix the once-thriving City of Ekurhuleni.
“Under her leadership, we renew our commitment to our communities and fight to improve the lives of all residents of Ekurhuleni. We will not waiver our principles and values. Our newly adopted policies and principles showcase this,” said the DA in a statement.
Campbell has held numerous positions in the DA and has served as a councillor in the City since 2000.
“As the new caucus leader, along with her executive, she will strive for better service delivery and clean governance, the very foundation of the values of the DA.”
Forming part of her executive are alderman Shadow Shabangu, elected DA Caucus chairperson in Ekurhuleni, and Clr Khetha Shandu, who has been appointed the DA Chief Whip in the City.
“Shabangu boasts 20 years of experience as a councillor. His knowledge and strategic understanding will bolster the caucus and help build on our progress thus far.
“Shandu takes up the new position after serving as a councillor since 2011. His youthful energy demonstrates his commitment to building on the guiding principles for the party.
“The combination of youth and experience brings renewed energy as we build on our progress and work towards 2021 local government elections and strive to improve the lives of our communities across Ekurhuleni,” said the DA.
