Beware of employment scam, warns Ekurhuleni metro

The metro has noted there are fake job advertisements circulating online purporting to be from the City

The City of Ekurhuleni warns the public to beware of employment scams by imposters creating fake municipal job advertisement to lure their targeted victims and rob them.

According to the metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, the metro has noted there are fake job advertisements circulating online purporting to be from the City.

“The job advertisement lists many jobs, ranging from security officers, general workers to technicians. Such adverts lure the unsuspecting public to contact a certain Mr Makua for application details.

“The City advises all jobseekers who would like to apply for the City’s job vacancies to visit the City’s website, www.ekurhuleni.gov.za. Applications are also done online through the same website,” stated Gadebe.

Jobseekers are advised that no form of payment is done for the City’s recruitment process. The City urges individuals to be very vigilant and to verify information on its website. You can report fraud and corruption on 0800 102 201.
