Bokkie Park open again

Security guards will be responsible for restricting entrance into parks to avoid overcrowding

The City of Ekurhuleni’s controlled-access community parks are now open and ready to welcome members of the public. Following the president’s announcement of the country’s move to Level 2, effective August 18, all park-goers can now enjoy the use of the city’s parks. However, residents are urged to follow the strict Covid-19 rules of always maintaining social distance of 1.5m, wearing of masks and regularly sanitising or washing hands.

The access-controlled parks will operate from 6am to 6pm.

Security guards at the gate will monitor and manage the number of people entering the parks to avoid overcrowding. Access controlled parks opened include: • Bokkie Park • Blaaupan Dam • Gillooly’s Farm • Dries Niemandt Park • Bulithando Multi-purpose Park • Nomathamsanqa Multi-purpose Park • Barcelona regional park • Germiston Lake • Alberton Dam
