Have your say on metro’s bioregional plan

Interested and affected parties can join a webinar session at 10am on August 18

The Ekurhuleni metro’s draft revised city’s bioregional plan has opened for public comments, and residents have until August 30 to make their inputs.

The municipality calls on business people, residents and land owners, all interested and affected stakeholders to give their input about the plan that is being reviewed.

According to the metro, the purpose of the plan is to inform land-use planning, environmental assessment and authorisations, and natural resource management by a range of sectors whose policies and decisions have an impact on biodiversity.

For that reason, interested and affected parties (I&APs) are informed of the availability of the draft revised city’s bioregional plan for comment for a period of 30 days.

All I&APs are requested to submit written comment by August 31.

Due to risks associated with the Covid-19 outbreak, hard copies will not be made available. Instead, electronic copies of the report and associated shape files will be available for download from https://www.cesnet.co.za/public-documents or https://www.ekurhuleni.gov.za/residents/bioregional-plan.html

Furthermore, a virtual webinar session will be held at 10am on August 18, on Microsoft Teams.

In order to receive an invitation to participate, you need to register your interest by August 14, with the contact below or for more information: call: 043 726 7809 | E-mail: g.hawley@cesnet.co.za
