St Francis gets a welcome hand

Items to the value of about R9 000 were donated to the St Francis Care Centre

The Arm Wrestling Association of South Africa (AASA) recently donated much-needed items to the value of about R9 000 to St Francis Care Centre.

The association donated non-perishable foods such as yogurt, more than 10 bottles of cold drinks, sunflower oil, baked beans, mealie meal and toys (products that were on the centre’s wish list).

Individuals such as James Kruger, Jacques Geel, Morné Jacobs, Rosemary Bötha and Francois Stip also assisted.

St Francis staff members, including James Matli and Matron Winnie Dlamini, accepted the donation and children at the centre also came out to thank the donors (from a safe distance).

James, the centre’s fund-raiser, expressed his gratitude towards the donors for their support.Konrad Conradie, the organiser of the charity drive, explained the association wanted to assist the St Francis Care Centre as they have a soft spot for children.

Conradie highlighted it was not the first time AASA made a contribution towards St Francis.
