Blanket donation welcomed at House of Mercy

The centre provides voluntary intensive residential treatment to chemically dependent people

Aranda, based in Randfontein, donated 35 blankets recently in response to an appeal by the House of Mercy drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Boksburg.

St Dominic’s Catholic Church also reached out by donating 10 blankets.

Monica Mashiane, the director of House of Mercy, extended her gratitude to the donors for their support.

“We appreciate their contribution towards our centre in these difficult times. It means a lot to us that they responded and their donation will go a long way in keeping our patients warm this winter,” Mashiane said.

The centre provides voluntary intensive residential treatment to chemically dependent people from the age of 18, giving preference to the most vulnerable and the poorest.

The aim of the centre is to facilitate the healing of each individual in a holistic manner, focusing on physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects.
