Girl (14) airlifted to hospital after dog attack

The girl is now in a stable condition

A 14-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital yesterday (July 30) after a dog allegedly attacked her during a visit at her friend’s house in Golf Street, Boksburg West.

Ona Ndala, managing director of Gau-Med Emergency Services, said the incident happened at about 10am.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a pit bull terrier grabbed and bit the girl when she arrived at her friend’s house for a visit.

“The girl sustained serious leg and arm injuries and a decision was made to airlift her to a specialised facility,” he said.

The child was treated on scene by paramedics and is now reportedly in a stable condition.
