The Boksburg North police have launched a manhunt for three suspects following a robbery at NWJ store in the East Rand Mall on July 26.

Jewellery worth R900 000 was stolen from the store, according to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube.

He said a 33-year-old woman who works in the store told police while she was inside the store when three men stormed in and pointed firearms at them.

“The woman told police she was told not to press the panic button and to open one of the cabinets where jewellery was kept,” Ramaube said.

She alleged that while the suspects were taking the jewellery, a broom fell over, which distracted the suspects and they then fled the scene.

Ramaube said the availability of the CCTV footage found at the store will assist with investigations.

No shots were fired and no one sustained any injuries.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS.

The police are appealing to anyone with information who can assist with information which could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the police on 08600 10111.
