The St Francis Care Centre is humbled by the support they received from the community on Mandela Day this year.
James Matli, St Francis Care Centre fund-raiser, explained the community was welcome to open their hearts by bringing donations to the centre.
Here is a list of individuals and companies who opened their hearts to the children and patients of the centre on Mandela Day:
- Madiba Hygiene deep-cleaned five vehicles at St Francis for the 67 minute act of kindness.
- The group of friends from the Post a Can/Sandwich initiative supported the centre on Mandela Day by donating tons of necessities such as non-perishable food.
- Lazarus Legacy Foundation donated medical supplies and PPE, like sanitiser, as part of their 67 Minutes for Mandela Day.
- Pro Acts Panels Panel Beaters donated food parcels and stationery that were on the care centre’s wish list.
- Ruth Pakati donated bags full of baby clothing, which will help to keep the babies warm during the last stretch of winter.
- Unilever and the Fisher family donated more than three boxes of essential items, such as non-perishable foods and washing powder.
